Qearn (“the app”, “we”) lets you listen to Quran recitations and earn Qoins, which can be exchanged for payouts. The ads shown in the app pay for those payouts. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and how to delete it.
What we collect
| Data | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Your email address. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address with us. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see them. | To give you an account and keep your Qoins in it. |
| Listening and Qoins | Which surah and reciter you play, how many seconds of listening were credited, surahs completed, your Qoin balance, Qoins waiting to be collected, collections and rewards, and the days you were active. | To credit Qoins correctly and prevent cheating. Our server checks listening against real time and the length of each recitation. |
| Ads | How many ads of each kind you were shown, and the ad revenue Google AdMob reports for them. | To understand what the app earns and costs. |
| Invites | Your invite code, the code you joined with (if any), and how many friends joined with yours. | To pay the invite bonus to you and your friend, once. |
| Cash-outs | The payout details you enter (for example a PayPal or gift-card email address), the amount, and the request’s status. | To send you the money you requested. |
| Device | Your platform (for example Android) and the app version. | To fix problems that affect some versions. |
Collected by Google AdMob
The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects your device’s advertising ID, IP address, device information and how you interact with ads, in order to show and measure ads and prevent fraud. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, you are asked for consent before ads are personalised. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your phone’s settings (Settings → Google → Ads on Android). See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Stays on your phone
Your collections, saved recitations, settings and reminder times are stored only on your phone and are not sent to us. Reminders are scheduled on the phone itself.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We use these providers to run the app:
- Google Firebase: sign-in, database and server functions. Your account data is stored here.
- Google AdMob: ads, as described above.
- Cloudflare: delivers the recitation audio. Like any web server, it processes your IP address to send you the files.
- Quran translations come from QuranEnc.com but are served from our own site, so nothing about you reaches QuranEnc. See translation credits.
- Payout services (such as PayPal or a gift-card provider): only when you request a cash-out, and only what is needed to pay you.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the app and its users from fraud.
How long we keep it
- Your account, Qoin balance and listening totals: until you delete your account.
- Day-by-day activity records: deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Rewarded-ad records: deleted automatically after 90 days.
- App-wide daily totals: kept for about 13 months. They contain no information about individual users.
- Cash-out records: kept after account deletion for as long as payment, accounting and legal obligations require. A cash-out you requested before deleting your account is still paid.
Deleting your account and your rights
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This deletes your account, Qoin balance, listening history and activity records straight away. You can also email qearnapps@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. See how to delete your account.
You may also ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, at the same address.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is stored on Google Cloud servers, which may be outside your country, including in the United States. Only our server can change Qoin balances. The app itself cannot.
Children
Qearn is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
